Gemma Christina Arterton was born in Kent in Gravesend. Greater London. She is best known as a character in films like Quantum of Solace, The Disappearance of Alice Creed, and many more, including 'Hansel & Gretel: Witch Hunters. She was born in Gravesend, Kent, in Greater London. While at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art She began her professional career by playing supporting actress in the comedy 'St. Trinian's'. Shortly after, she was featured in the film 'Spy "James Bond" film , 'Quantum Of Solace'. It was a huge success commercially, and received only average reviews. Her next role was as the lead female character in the action adventure film , 'Prince of Persiania: The Sands of Time'. Recently, she played an supporting part on the French film 'Orphan'. Arterton's career has seen her receiving numerous nominations for awards. The award she received was the highly coveted Empire Award for best newcomer for her role in Quantum of Solace and the Evening Standard Theatre Award for the role she played as a supporting actress in Made in Dagenham. In 2011, she won the Glamour award for Women of the year.
