Awkwafina An American singer and actress began with a series of rap songs dealing with issues related to sexual and race. Her fame grew into Hollywood after she released several rap songs. Born Nora Lum to Chinese and Korean immigrant parents in Forest Hills Queens her first experience with music came through the trumpet. Alongside classical music and jazz, Nora Lum started studying hip-hop when she was in her teens. Concentrating on school she majored in journalism, and women's studies, and was learning Mandarin in Beijing during a brief time. However, it wasn't until she graduated that she turned her attention to music. Her My Vag song, My Vag which was her response to the Mickey Avalon song My Dick, became a huge hit on the Internet and eventually appeared on her first LP Yellow Ranger. Other viral hits included the queef track and the eye-catching NYC Bitche$ hometown tour. The track that was the last one to be connected directly to Awkwafina's NYC travel guide, which was published in 2015. After having a great career as a singer and songwriter, she took on the role of an actor. She's appeared in movies including Neighbors 2, Storks, and Bad Rap. The actress made headlines in the year 2018 when she appeared in a number of high profile films, including Dude Ocean's 8 as well as Crazy Rich Asians. In June, she released In Fina We Trust.
